The Oakland Public Library seeks an energetic, team-oriented Administrative Librarian who is enthusiastic about serving the citizens of the communities within the City of Oakland by delivering top-notch customer service, upholding their public services commitment to our patrons, and by making a difference in the lives of library users.
The Oakland Public Library has a main library, 15 neighborhood branches, an African American Museum & Library, and an adult literacy program. We currently employ approximately 425 employees and offer a very competitive salary and benefits package for full-time and permanent part-time civil service employees.
Job Details:
The Administrative Librarian will plan, organize, direct and review various system wide initiatives, such as strategic planning, policy development, staff development & training, statistical and other analysis and administrative special projects as assigned by the Director. The Administrative Librarian will also oversee Collection Development, Technical Services, Children’s and Teen Services.
This is an unclassified position and is not governed by the Civil Service Rules of the City of Oakland.
The salary range for this classification is $9,255 – $11,364/monthly, 37.5 hour work week (Currently, there is an avg. of one mandatory business shutdown day per month.).
