JOB: Librarian for Research and Digitization, Holy Names University, Oakland

The future’s so bright; you’ve got to wear shades! The J. Paul Cushing Library at Holy Names University has a newly-created position for a Librarian for Research and Digitization. Working with our other research/instructional librarians and collaborating with a small but dynamic team of library professionals, you will provide direct research help (aka “reference”) in person and electronically; design, execute, and assess a year-round campus-wide information literacy program for traditional, graduate, adult, and distance students; develop and maintain the library’s first institutional repository; and oversee the introduction of electronic theses to our institution. You and your peer librarian will create and deliver the library’s first faculty liaison program, and you will participate in planning and delivering the transition from print to digital and from library to learning commons.

This is a position ideally suited for a flexible generalist with a strong grounding in academic library services, excellent classroom presence, and strong time and task management skills. Will include some night and weekend hours.
