At a Bay Area Independent Publishers Association meeting in San Rafael, Sharon Miller and Taryn Edwards, Library Director and Membership Services Librarian at the Mechanics’ Institute Library in San Francisco, will describe all the activities that a ‘real library” (the 157-year-old Mechanics’ Institute Library) is engaged in to support writers in every step of the writing process: peer support groups through training, self-publishing how-to’s, marketing, and even partnering with local independent book stores.

The meeting is held from 8:30 a.m. – 12:50 p.m., Saturday, February 11, at the First Congregational Church, 8 North San Pedro Road, San Rafael. The event is free to local librarians.
