Join BayNet at the San Francisco Airport Commission Aviation Library and Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum for a tour of the  SFO Aviation Museum & Library!

The aviation museum and library collection is housed in a facility modeled after the passenger waiting room from the 1937 San Francisco Airport Administration Building. Collection holdings include over 17,000 artifacts and 8,000 books, in addition to periodicals, photographs, technical drawings, oral histories, and archival materials. Collection strengths include the development and management of San Francisco International Airport from 1927 to the present, and the development of domestic and international airlines operating to and through the West Coast and throughout the Pacific region.

Librarian Julie Takata will be leading the tour of the library, including their archives with the focus on SFO’s historical documents. Museum Registrar Tomohiko Ano will lead a section on their 3D museum collection and discuss SFO’s museum practices.
