JOB: Senior Librarian – Access Services, San Jose Public Library

The award winning San José Public Library System is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Access Librarian!  This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the King Library Access Services Unit and does not require a MLS degree.  This position co-manages with San Jose State University (SJSU) Library Access Services Manager unit operations, programs and services to ensure their effectiveness. The incumbent collaborates with other SJPL unit and branch managers and the SJSU Library Access Services co-manager in formulating and implementing circulation policies for the King Library as well as with San Jose Public Library system staff in formulating and implementing circulation policies for the SJPL system.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a strong and innovative leader and be aware of and support, practice and promote the San Jose Way of library innovation and the Mission, Vision, & Values statements of the City of San José and the San José Public Library; have knowledge of current library automation technology and trends; have experience working with a diverse community and a diverse staff; and enjoy working in a fast-paced, innovative team environment.

Salary: $74,484.80 – $90,750.40
