JOB: Library Program Manager – Literacy Services, South San Francisco Public Library

South San Francisco Public Library has an opening for a creative, community-oriented Library Program Manager – Literacy Services.

This position oversees the day-to-day operations of Project Read and the Community Learning Center, securing funding for, planning and implementing programs and projects that meet the needs of our community.

Project Read is an adult and family literacy program, providing one-on-one tutoring, as well as health, financial and computer literacy support services.  Our “Learning Wheels” outreach van provides literacy services to low-income families with children under the age of five.  The Community Learning Center offers an exciting array of programs,  including an afterschool homework program for elementary school children, as well as computer instruction, citizenship, parenting (and more) classes.

We are looking for a dynamic manager who can continue our strong partnerships with community groups, schools and organizations, plan and implement a successful fundraising strategy to secure continued funding for these important community programs, and identify and lead library literacy services in new, exciting,  directions.
