Berkeley Public Library, North Berkeley Branch

Expanded and improved, North Branch is poised to serve future generations with updated and state-of-the-art spaces that are inviting, efficient, and flexible. The renovation and improvements were completed about a year and a half ago as part of the Branch Library Improvement program that began in 2009 with the passage of Measure FF in 2008. The North Branch Library is one of Berkeley’s many civic buildings designed by noted Berkeley architect, James W. Plachek. The 1936 structure was designated a City of Berkeley Landmark in 2001 — “The North Branch is significant because it is an outstanding example of a revival design evocative of the early Spanish influence in the State and Bay area.”

Following the tour, we will have a speed networking program: Meet other library professionals, exchange information, and share professional goals and strategies with library workers from diverse types of libraries.

Light refreshments will be provided. Come for the entire evening or only part of the program. Seating is limited, and pre-registration is required.
