Willow Creek Academy is looking for a thoughtful, motivated, organized, collaborative, and forward-thinking assistant librarian to direct its Library and serve as collaborator in information literacy and literature appreciation for all members of the school community.
The assistant librarian will curate, catalogue and manage a collection that serves the needs of all our students. He/she will work with faculty to design and implement innovative learning opportunities for students. He/she will develop and curate a multi-format collection using a variety of modern and traditional techniques, including book talks, online videos, bibliographies, and readers’ advisory programs and displays. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of and appreciation for the history of libraries, but equal excitement about the future of reading, teaching, libraries, and learning. He/she will also possess a strong desire to build a culturally relevant collection that represents our students’ ethnic diversity. Experience in an educational environment is important, as well as proven success organizing special projects and school-wide celebrations (such as author visits, assemblies, and reading clubs). The assistant librarian role is a part-time position reporting to the Head Of School.
