Marin Academy seeks a part-time (.75) librarian to assist in all aspects of the library’s operation. Candidates should have an MLS from an accredited program as well as some experience working with high school students.

Ideal candidates will also possess technological savvy, flexibility in their schedule, a willingness to pitch in, a passion for working with students and participating in the everyday life of the school, and a sense of humor. Candidates should have the inclination and experience to work in a diverse community focused on issues of equity and social justice. Salary and benefits are competitive.

Responsibilities:
§ Teach research skills and information literacy in a class-room setting
§ Assist students and staff with research
§ Catalog books and process materials
§ Shelve books and library maintenance
§ Supervise students in library
§ Assist in creating displays

Desired qualifications:
§ MLIS
§ Ability to teach information literacy and researching
§ Willingness to supervise and engage with high school students
§ Knowledge of DDCS and willingness to catalog books
§ Interest in writing for library blog and other social media
§ Ability to pursue work in an organized manner despite multiple interruptions
§ Interest in helping to manage eBook collection (OverDrive and Ebsco)
§ Engagement and interest with library promotion and outreach
