JOB: Research Librarian, Financial Services Industry, San Francisco

Our client, a global financial investment firm is searching for a Research Librarian role, which will be dedicated support to the deal sourcing efforts of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) investing group. This role will be responsible for identifying lists and other sources of companies, doing database screens and searches, collating and analyzing large amounts of data in spreadsheet format, researching companies and creating company profiles, and presenting information to investing professionals for discussion. This role will be based in San Francisco but will work with the entire US TMT team, including the NY office. The role will involve data manipulation and collation across a number of technology platform sources, including, Capital IQ and Merger Market, and then drilling into and assessing data on particular companies or individuals.


  • BA/BS required
  • MLIS / MLS degree or enrollment in a MLIS/MLS program preferred
  • Experience in a corporate library or comparable professional environment preferred
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and Outlook required
  • Ability to multi-task/prioritize, meet tight deadlines, manage time effectively with good attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as a part of a team
