JOB: Librarian, Systems and Technology, Foothill College, Los Altos Hills, CA

The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Librarian, Systems and Technology, Foothill College.

Foothill College is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented Systems and Technology Librarian who will have primary responsibility for the college’s integrated library system as well as other web-based library resources and services. This person will manage all aspects of the operation, integration, and enhancement of the ILS (currently SirsiDynix Symphony) and coordinate its use with Technical Services and Public Services staff to maximize the system’s capabilities in acquisitions, cataloging, circulation, and serials control. The successful candidate will also manage the library’s electronic resources; take a leadership role in implementing, integrating, and evaluating emerging technologies and services as they pertain to the library; administer and support a variety of library technology infrastructure tools and techniques, including discovery layer, link resolvers, proxy server, and content management system; and generate and maintain appropriate statistical information, reports, and surveys. The position works closely with staff members from all departments in the library and several departments on campus and at the district and acts as a liaison to the library’s technology vendors. Standard duties of all librarians include providing reference service, serving as a liaison to one or more academic divisions, selecting library materials, participating in division meetings, and participating in library instruction, library orientations, and tours as needed.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, Tenure-track, 11-months per year


HIRING RANGE: $59,103.00 – $97,067.00 annually plus benefits; actual placement is based on applicant’s verified education and experience.
