Originally founded in 1909, Samuel Merritt University (SMU) is a fully accredited health sciences institution located in Oakland, CA. The University offers degrees in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant, and podiatric medicine. The Library collaborates with campus partners to enhance and promote teaching, learning, and research at SMU. The position reports to the Library Director. Responsible for planning, implementing, including upgrades, configuration, maintenance, integration and trouble shooting key electronic resources. Lead support of ongoing access to electronic information resources for all stakeholders. Prepares for and instructs, through traditional classroom, distance education modes, and standalone sessions. Develops and updates library instructional and/or promotional materials using a variety of technologies. Provide research guidance to students and faculty both individually and in groups, including one weekly evening shift.
MLS from an ALA accredited program.
3 years of academic library experience, preferably in health sciences.
