Menlo College is seeking a part-time Information Services Librarian to join our team. This position is approximately 10-20 hours per week during the 2016-2017 academic year beginning in late August. Evening and weekend hours will be required.
Reporting to the Dean of Library Services, the Information Services Librarian is responsible for providing reference and research assistance to a diverse population of undergraduate users, including adult learners in the Professional Studies Program, as well as faculty and staff.
Desired qualifications include previous experience in an academic or public library; experience providing reference services and/or library instruction; familiarity with an integrated library system, preferably WMS; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to juggle work duties as necessary; and a strong commitment to excellent public service.
An ALA-accredited MLIS is strongly preferred, although we will consider an MLIS student with significant coursework and reference experience.
