Reporting to the Deputy City Librarian, the Chief Analytics Officer will lead a new Research, Strategy and Analytics Unit with system-wide charge and organizational responsibility to collect, organize, validate and analyze data from a variety of sources and advance a data-driven culture within San Francisco Public Library (SFPL). The Chief Analytics Officer is a senior management level position and a key member of SFPL’s executive leadership team to improve efficiencies, demonstrate outcomes, provide analytical support and develop performance metrics for new projects and initiatives. The Chief Analytics Officer will serve as SFPL’s lead consultant tasked with manipulating data into actionable insights to inform understanding of patron’s usage behaviors, residents’ needs for library services and changing community demographics. These efforts will influence strategic initiatives and service planning for SFPL.
