JOB: Education Librarian, UCSF, San Francisco

The UCSF Library seeks an energetic, creative, collaborative, and service-oriented professional to serve as Education Librarian and technology lead for the department. The successful candidate has a passion for leveraging emerging technologies to provide user-centered services and for teaching and learning. Reporting to the Director, Collection, Education, and Research Services, this position is part of a team of librarians who provide consulting and instructional services to our diverse and distributed campus community. As the technology lead for the Education Services department, this individual will:

  • Investigate and implement new ways to promote and provide education and consulting services in an online environment;
  • Ensure education and consulting services are accurately represented on the library’s website;
  • Lead the continued development and maintenance of subject guides;
  • Lead development of interactive, online tutorials.

This individual will be a technology evangelist and identify, assess, and model examples for adoption of technologies that will enhance education and consultation services. Working with Education Services colleagues, the Education Librarian will also provide instruction and workshops designed to foster the use of information resources and tools as well as offer consultation services to faculty, staff, and students on a variety of subjects.
