The San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis, celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2017, and currently located in a quaint recently entirely remodeled two story brick building convenient to the Powell Street Transportation Hub, Mint Plaza and the Chronicle Building, is looking for a part time (10hr/wk) library assistant who has a basic understanding of how psychoanalysis/psychiatry works as well as archival processing and cataloging experience or training. Work roles include shelving books, filling scan requests for reprints through email while paying careful attention to copyright and legal considerations, mailing books and other items, over dues, donations, copy cataloging and other standard and non-standard library operations assignments as they arise, and equally the willingness and curiosity to just sit down and work, under the direction of the Librarian, on unprocessed archival collections of material about psychoanalysis and psychiatry dating from 1940-1980 as well as other ‘special’ projects.
Application deadline: 01/29/17
Pay is 20$ per hour. To apply, email a cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
