The Learning Commons Supervisor (Evenings) provides excellent library and information service in support of the University’s academic programs as outlined in the University Library’s Strategic Plan. He/she performs duties requiring a broad knowledge of general library operations in a diverse work environment. He/She is responsible for the supervision of the library and library staff during late evening hours, including building management and managing emergency situations, should they arise. The position, which requires independent judgement, provides and oversees the delivery of accurate, timely, and courteous service that respects individual needs and strengthens the educational experience.
Participates in planning and accomplishing the goals of Access & Delivery Services and participates in continuing education/training and staff development activities appropriate to job responsibilities. Supervises multiple student assistants, across the Access & Delivery Services workforce, during late evenings, and may direct the work of Information Specialists. The primary schedule is 5 p.m. – 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Adjustments in this schedule will be required as a function of the academic calendar, e.g., intersession, summer hours, etc.
Bachelor’s degree preferred and two years of library or front line customer service experience is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hiring Range: $23.69 – $27.23, commensurate with experience.
