The Library Help Desk Manager serves as the day-to-day coordinator for the Library Help Desk and manages student assistant hiring/scheduling, directly supervises 2 full-time staff and oversees the work of other full-time staff. The Library Help Desk Manager creates, coordinates, implements and evaluates procedures and training materials for all student assistants and full-time staff who provide services at the Library Help Desk. The position works independently with minimum supervision, exercises independent judgment, consults and makes decisions or recommendations regarding the daily functioning of the Library Help Desk. Reports to the Head of Access and Delivery Services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, and organizational skills, including ability to maintain records with great attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems, and improve services, policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of library experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience supervising and managing staff, student assistants or other hourly employees.
Hiring Range: $27.43 – $31.54/hour, commensurate with experience.
