JOB: Librarian II – Media and Spanish Language Selector, Sonoma County Library, Rohnert Park, CA

Sonoma County Library is seeking a customer service driven library professional with excellent communication and Spanish bilingual skills for our full-time Librarian II position in the Collection Services Division. This position is located at our Library Headquarters in Rohnert Park, in the heart of Wine Country, with the Redwoods and Pacific Ocean only minutes away.

Under general direction of the Collection Development Coordinator, this position is responsible for the selection of Spanish language materials, other world language materials, and audio-visual materials for all ages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Library Science (MLS), or Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS) degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of appropriate professional experience working as a professional librarian, preferably in a public library. Must have a valid California driver’s license. Spanish bilingual skills are required.

Desired qualifications include: Experience utilizing CollectionHQ and Midwest Tape, knowledge of Spanish language and world language vendors and buying sources, experience attending language buying fairs (local and international), passion for and experience in selecting feature films, documentaries, music, and audiobooks, knowledge of and experience in best practices of weeding areas of responsibility.

SALARY RANGES:            Librarian II – $62,920.00 to $78,582.40 annually
