Special collections are kept from public display to protect unique items and fragile materials. But donors, patrons, researchers — and let’s not forget librarians and archivists — want these hidden collections to be found, seen, and used.
Rising to the challenge, librarians at leading institutions are tackling discovery, access, and preservation in creative ways. We’ve invited a few to discuss their favorite projects and future plans.
The day’s lineup will include presentations covering digitization projects and processes from several different angles. We’ll have speakers from The University of California, Berkeley, the Oribis Cascade Alliance, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the California Digital Library, and Backstage Library Works
