JOB: Metadata Specialist, Sonoma State University Library, Rohnert Park

The Metadata Specialist works in a tightly integrated team to maintain and support print and electronic collections. This person will work with metadata in multiple integrated systems to help ensure ease of access to collections, including assisting with e-resource management and troubleshooting, reviewing and revising cataloging records and holdings metadata, providing copy cataloging support as needed for regional and special materials, and creating and gathering other forms of library metadata including but not limited to usage data, local authority data, and inventory data. The incumbent will provide library systems support with the opportunity to learn to manage complex library systems and configuration. The incumbent will also provide general departmental support as part of the Technical Services team, including withdrawals, material transfers, and other technical services work as assigned.
