EXTRA-HELP PREPRESS SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
ROHNERT PARK HEADQUARTERS
THE POSITION:
Under general supervision from the Community Relations Manager, provides excellent customer service and performs technical printing support to the Graphics department in support of the production of the Library’s marketing and outreach materials. This includes skilled technical work, such as routine layout activities, utilizing a small offset press, printers, scanners, cameras, copy machines and computer software, bindery, and finishing equipment to prepare and produce a wide variety of printed materials. Please attach three (3) digital work samples to your application demonstrating your Illustrator and Photoshop skills.

TYPICAL TASKS include, but are not limited to:
Performs production duties for printed materials produced: cutting, folding binding and other required steps to finalize collateral printed materials, such as flyers and posters.
Creates soft and hard copy proofs for internal proofing and then as needed corrects, pre-flights and outputs files for offset and digital presses.
Operates digital duplicator to produce routine high-volume precision work to produce a wide variety of one color materials, such as in-house forms, applications, and promotional materials, stationary, and business cards.

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Operation of offset duplicating machines, copier, bindery and finishing equipment such as collators, and folding machines.
Pre-press production and printing processes and technology.
Basic digital design and layout concepts, processes, and procedures, for reproduction, and layout.
Basic computer operation and software in both Microsoft and Apple technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Two (2) years of recent experience in basic layout and the operation of a digital production copier, offset machine and/or bindery in a reprographic or printing production centered environment.
Special Requirements: Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment: physical effort and manual dexterity in the operation and maintenance of offset or other related equipment. May be required to perform lifting up to 50 pounds.

SALARY RANGE: $21.20/hour
