• Serials Processing: Monitors and updates records related to serials changes, such as title changes, ceased titles, format changes, publisher changes, platform changes. Runs reports to identify orders and issues not received; analyzes receipt patterns, order and payment history and initiates claims as needed. Performs problematic snag analysis and problem resolution for all types and formats of serials. Performs complex pre and post cataloging processing for new serials.
• Orders and Payments: Manages ordering with multiple functions and boundary crossing responsibilities; acts as liaison with vendors, library administration, selectors or other staff members in establishing appropriate acquisition/processing arrangements for e-resources and serials; coordinates library access to electronic journals, databases, streaming video and other materials acquired digitally. Maintains and manages order and holdings records to ensure proper receipt and accurate data. Manages renewals and cancellations of resources.
• Analyzes, evaluates, interprets and revises or proposes revisions to established operational guidelines within scope of assigned responsibilities.
• Advanced professional library knowledge enabling the performance of a full range of coordinating, and/or highly specialized functional subject area activities in electronic resources and serials acquisitions, including experience working with multiple bibliographic and other data sources.
• This knowledge may be acquired through considerable library experience, possibly in combination with specialized training and skills or relevant academic preparation.
• Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training in areas of electronic resources and print serials acquisitions and management.
• Three or more years experience working in electronic resources and serials acquisitions.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Experience working with Millennium or Sierra ILS.
• Demonstrated proficiency with standard professional office software.
• Demonstrated communication skills including oral and written.
