So you want to be a Food Writer?

Thursday, February 25, 2021

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM Online event

Description

Love to cook and want to share your passion? Come get the scoop about food writing!

Dean Jones, who writes as The Well Seasoned Librarian, leads a discussion with food Webcaster Zeene (Zeene in Real Life); author and editor Rochelle Karina; and food author and New York chef Nick Hayward. They’ll share how to break into the field, tips for new authors, and information about the publishing industry (online and in print).

This discussion is one in a series of special events we’re offering as part of Alameda County Reads, a new program that celebrates our communities, our connections, and ourselves. Our book selection is Eat Joy: Stories & Comfort Food from 31 Celebrated Writers, a collection of personal essays and recipes from great writers who share how comfort food flavored important moments in their lives. Learn more about the book and the program.

By joining this discussion you’ll be welcome to a free copy of the book at any participating Alameda County Library branch, while supplies last.

All our welcome to join this online discussion, which will be on Zoom. You will receive the Zoom link a few days prior to the discussion.

We at ACLibrary care about your privacy. We use Zoom to host our virtual programs. None of our live programs are recorded and none of the chat logs are saved. Everyone registered for an online program will receive the link to participate in a separate email before the program begins.

An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least three business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.
