Job Listing: Full-time Library Technician (East Bay) Los Altos

The Foothill College Library will be conducting a search for two permanent, full-time Library Technicians to start Winter quarter. In the meantime, we are seeking two temporary employees to serve as library technicians on a temporary basis for the Fall quarter.

The temporary library technician positions will include, but not be limited to, the following duties:

interface directly with students (in person, by phone, and online) to help locate/select/circulate library materials and navigate the library’s services; interpret and resolve questions and concerns regarding library policies and procedures, including liability for damaged or lost materials; implement processes to maintain collection of reserves material, including electronics; interface with faculty and division deans to identify and order instructional materials for library reserves; collaborate with library colleagues to determine and implement library policies and procedures; develop, write, communicate, and implement procedures for efficiencies in the circulation/reserves area; use the library’s computer- and web-based systems to maintain records and generate reports; and recruit, hire, train, and supervise student workers.
