Dr. Patrick Newell of California State University’s Meriam Library in Chico will speak to registered members on the “Report on a 2020-21 Study of Copyright Education Needs of Library Personnel in 13 Western States” (a recent, large-scale study with data available at https://keep.lib.asu.edu/items/160716) & on building the Western Copyright Alliance, starting with Alaska, Arizona, California, and Washington.

About the presenter:
Patrick Newell is Dean of Meriam Library at CSU Chico and the creator (and former host) of CopyTalk, ALA’s Copyright Legislation Education Action Network’s semi-regular webinar on Copyright and Intellectual Property issues, presented since 2013. He completed a Ph.D. at UC Davis’ School of Education and School of Law researching how people learn about and understand copyright in academic environments.
