Join Megan Schadlich as she discusses the new course she helped create for Library Journal and School Library Journal: Social Emotional Librarianship. In this course, folks will learn how to approach your practice, programs, and partnerships through a social emotional lens and better support yourself, colleagues, and your community.  When you attend this interactive online course, you’ll come away with: – Tools for supporting the emotional well-being and self-care of staff and colleaguesMethods for dealing with conflict resolution – The building blocks for incorporating Social Emotional Learning (SEL) into your practice and programs – Strategies for identifying and securing supportive community partners to help deliver needed services After, we’ll have plenty of time to discuss your questions!

Megan Schadlich (She/Her)

An advocate for disruption while respecting what’s come before, Megan has been working in or volunteering in libraries since she was 9! As an adult her love for libraries has led her all over the world working first in her university’s library, then in a variety of public library settings, and even interning for Dokk1 in Aarhus, Denmark. She is the author of Cooking Up Library Programs Teens & ‘Tweens Will Love: Recipes for Success, Lead Facilitator for the Antiracism Course offered by Library Journal and School Library Journal magazines through EdMaker. She’s participated in multiple IMLS studies and has twice won the YALSA Writing Award. She loves travel, hugs, trying new foods, and hanging out with her friends.
