|The Position||The College seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member for an Equity, Outreach, and Engagement Librarian. The ideal candidate will share the College’s commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. This position requires self-direction, flexibility, the ability to work well with others as part of a team, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly-changing library, teaching, and learning environment. This position is a valued part of the team of librarians, staff, and library workers who are continuing to grow and learn in their equity-minded practices. This position reports directly to the Director of the Learning Commons.|

|Duties and Responsibilities||The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the scope of work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to this classification.The Librarian will provide equity-minded vision and leadership in the development, assessment, and continuous improvement of the library’s collections, reference services, and information literacy instruction programEngage with CSM’s diverse learning communities through outreach, instruction, and curricular development with student success initiatives (e.g., first-generation college student programs, Guided Pathways, free college initiatives), and design equity-informed library programming and services to meet their needsEngage with the CSM community to improve campus awareness of critical open education/access issues (e.g., OER, ZTC, and other open access resources)Keep current with trends and developments in equity-oriented and non-traditional student servicesLead and participate in library-wide initiatives to examine current practices and strengthen policies that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion goalsTeach and assess information literacy in a variety of formats and modalities (e.g., credit-bearing courses, one-shot information literacy instruction sessions, and workshops)Provide reference services in-person and remotely using various communication toolsParticipate in department/division, College, District, and regional committees as appropriateThe College offers day, evening, online, and weekend classes, and librarians may be required to teach or provide services during these timesPerform other duties as required by contract and general institutional needs|

|Faculty Benefits||Benefits include paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. The District pays all or a portion of monthly medical plan premiums (depending on the coverage) and pays all of the monthly dental and vision plan premiums for employees and eligible dependents.
