Whether you have a background in education or counseling or are just eager to learn, we encourage you to apply. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about the intersections of information literacy, social justice, and K-12 education and counseling. Early-career librarians and candidates from historically underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

What would I be doing?

You’ll be involved with all aspects of academic librarianship: instruction, reference, collection development, outreach, and scholarly communication. You’ll teach information literacy workshops in graduate classes in teacher education, educational leadership, and counseling, as well as work with undergraduate classes in leadership and select composition classes. Some classes occur in the evening. You’ll also staff a couple reference shifts each week (including a weekly 5-7 p.m. shift and a Saturday or two each semester), select books and other materials to support your disciplines, and contribute to our efforts to promote open-access publishing and open educational resources. It’s a position with a lot of autonomy, but also a lot of peer support.

Where would I be working?

Saint Mary’s is a private, Catholic, Lasallian college, rooted in the liberal arts tradition, that has been designated a Hispanic-Serving Institution.

Why should I want to work there?
