Style: Informal but informative articles relevant to the interests of BayNet Members with a focus on interdisciplinary communication. Informal reporting on academic research is encouraged. Critical analyses and opinion pieces that are backed by responsible research and interviews are also encouraged. If news on events or symposia are submitted, please ensure that they are happening after the newsletter is published (typically within one to two weeks after submission deadlines). The Chicago Manual of Style (15th ed.) may be used in styling articles for publication. Footnotes are not used, but a few references are allowed in the text.

Format: Electronic submissions are preferred. Submissions should be sent to baynetlibs@gmail.com with the phrase BayNet Newsletter Submission in the subject line.

Length: 750 – 1250 words.

Rights: BayNet will request non-exclusive rights for digital publication only.

Reports: The editor will attempt to report back on the status of submissions between 2-3 weeks. Written reminders by the author after that period are welcomed, and usually result in a prompt reply.

Publication Date: An estimated publication date will be supplied to the author. Articles will be published on a quarterly schedule (i.e. January, April, July, October).

Editing: On accepted manuscripts, the editor reserves the right to make editorial revisions, deletions, or additions that, in their opinion, supports the author’s intent. When changes are substantial, every effort is made to work with the author.
