The San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis, currently celebrating its 75th year of existence, seeks volunteers with audiovisual cataloging skills or who seek to learn them to complete a project of creating a list, with descriptions, of several hundred tapes with psychoanalytic and psychotherapy lectures, events, and symposia dating from 1959-2016. Training will be provided. A good resume-builder for those seeking to enter the world of audiovisual archiving and/or library science. EOE. Librarians are responsible for performing a variety of professional librarian duties. This may include: providing direct assistance to library customers in the location of information and library materials; serving as a resource for children, young adults, adults, and library staff; conducting library tours, giving book talks, and planning, promoting, or presenting other programs; presenting story times and other early literacy programs; working with community groups to promote understanding, use, and support of library service activities; analyzing, interpreting and answering reference questions, and providing reader’s advisory information; supervising, leading, or training the work of clerical and technical staff as assigned; assuming responsibility for a facility or a section as assigned; selecting and managing collections; cataloging; service and program support for teens; small business and workforce development programming; and web development and design. These positions will include evenings and weekend shifts.

JOB: Director of County Library Communication and Marketing, Santa Clara County Library, Campbell

The County Librarian seeks a Director of County Library Communication and Marketing with the intention, commitment, personal and professional characteristics, and skills to implement and evaluate communication and marketing strategies and plans designed to increase the Library’s brand identity to broaden awareness of programs and services, and promote community and patron engagement.

In collaboration with the County Librarian, the Director will provide for greater efficiencies and address the workload and long-term needs of the County Library system. Library Administration determined that a high-level communication and marketing plan is needed to handle the current and future demands to communicate and market the valuable services the library has to offer to the community.

Qualifications
An ideal candidate should be an experienced leader of excellent character and integrity who shares the mission of the County Library. A qualified candidate would typically possess education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Marketing, Public Communication, Media Relations, Business or Public Administration or a related field, and at least 3 years of broad management experience as a communication and marketing professional including supervision of public and media relations staff.
